BMG/RCA Records Launches Elvissecondtonone.com To Support Release of ELVIS 2ND TO NONE (New York, NY - July 28, 2003) - In support of the forthcoming release of ELVIS 2ND TO NONE, the follow-up to last year's highly successful ELV1S 30 #1 HITS, BMG/RCA Records will launch the elvissecondtonone.com website www.elvissecondtonone.com on July 28. Elvissecondtonone.com is a treasure trove of Elvis' music and performances designed to appeal to both Elvis aficionados and novices. The website will launch with the announcement of the first 20 tracks on the album, and subsequent tracks will be rolled out over time, leading up to the album release on October 7th. The site also features a jukebox that will preview the new tracks, as well as a new photo gallery and video footage of Elvis performing songs from ELVIS 2ND TO NONE. Each single on elvissecondtonone.com has its own page featuring anecdotes, chart information, the original sleeve, photos, and more. The site will include innovative features including "Roll Your Own" music video from Sudden Industries, the "Virtual Elvis" created by Oddcast, as well as links to Elvis e-cards, downloads and contests with prizes including a trip for two to Graceland. "Building off of our highly successful website for ELV1S 30 #1 HITS, BMG and Sudden have created a spectacular companion site," said Kieve Huffman, Senior Director of Digital Marketing and Licensing for BMG Strategic Marketing. "We are excited to be able to offer another site that will deepen the relationship that Elvis' music has to his fans as well as create a dynamic introduction to the casual fan." The site was designed by New York-based interactive design shop Sudden Industries, the same firm that designed www.elvisnumberones.com for which they won numerous high-profile and prestigious awards including a Pencil at The One Show, a Silver Cube from the Art Directors Club, a Best of Show from the Web Marketing Association's Web Awards, a Silver from the eDesign Competition and an Award of Excellence from the International Web Page Awards. "After the popular, critical and commercial success of the 30 #1s site, it was a bit daunting to imagine a follow-up," quotes Sudden Industries CEO and Creative Director, Bob Holmes. "But once we heard the music, it became obvious to us that the site, like the record, is not only a great companion piece to 30 #1s but could also stand on its own." Source: BMG/Argentina |
