The Follow That Dream label will release "Unchained Melody" with a soundboard recording from an Elvis' concert in Charlotte, North Carolina on February 20, 1977. This release is due for January 1, 2007.

MEMPHIS, TN – November 16, 2006 – For the first time ever, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. (EPE) will produce an official Elvis tribute artist competition. The company announced today that it will launch a search for contestants for the “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest.”

Robert Plant made his second visit to Graceland this week. Plant's first visit was in 1987 for a LIFE Magazine photo shoot with other music stars for the magazine's feature commemorating the 10th anniversary of Elvis's passing.

FTD will release HIS HAND IN MINE in the classic album series and a book, WRITING FOR THE KING on December 1, 2006. This new book will include 125 interviews with people who wrote songs for Elvis and two CDs: one of Elvis' recordings of songs by these writers, and one with demos of Elvis songs.

"Since the campaign is all about cravings, we figured we couldn't do any better than Elvis and "Burning Love," said RPA Associate Creative Director Jim Real. "The new remix takes an already great song and gives it a bit of fresh energy." The advertising targets young, active consumers who may be single or just starting their families. Spots will air on top-rated programs, including the premieres of "Lost" and "Smallville" and the 30-second spot featuring Elvis will also run on movie theater screens across the nation in October and November. According to a posting on the FECC Forum Ernst Jorgensen made a brief appearance at the "Insider's Conference". He said BMG is releasing "The Million Dollar Quartet" in it's complete form from a tape copy found in Elvis' collection, which he said is better quality and complete. Also, this Christmas, BMG will release a "new" Christmas CD.

He also mentioned the The " 1961 Hawaii concert’" – a sensational and important performance that deserves a re-release with upgraded sound.

On the FTD label they are working on: (1) The "His Hand In Mine" Sessions; and (2) a song writer's double CD with one side devoted to demos and the other side devoted to Elvis' original versions. He did not mention any outtakes, but did mention "Teddy Bear" sung by Otis Blackwell and "Slowly But Surely" by P. J. Proby.

From a posting of the For Elvis CD Collectors Message Board: Tom Brown of Turner Classic Movies was on the George Klein show this afternoon as he is in Memphis for the Elvis Insiders convention. He stated that they did TTWII-SE in 2001 and that someday he wanted to do the same for Elvis On Tour. He went on to say he wanted it to be a 2 DVD set with the first being the original and disc 2 being all the other concert footage along with all the backstage stuff plus interviews from the people that were there. He then stated that maybe they could get it out for next year.

He also told GK that he had a 58 minute audio tape of EP talking about his career from the film and he would like to get that out also. George Klein said he would like to have that audio tape and TB said he would have to talk to him about that off-air. Until now only have the announced single disk edition from Germany.

Lisa Marie Presley was married to musician and producer Michael Lockwood on January 22, 2006. The traditional Japanese ceremony took place in Kyoto, Japan. The bride’s mother Priscilla Presley walked her down the aisle and gave her away. Lisa's daughter Riley Keough served as maid of honor and son Benjamin Keough was a groomsman. Michael Lockwood’s best man was Danny Keough. Michael's parents, Vivian and William, were also in attendance.

The Elvis VigilCast, EPE's own news magazine program emanating from the Candlelight Vigil at Graceland on August 15th, was carried live online by AOL again this year, a global event. In previous years the live transmission was available only to AOL members, but this year membership is not required, making it accessible to everyone with an Internet connection and greatly increasing the audience. As always, shortly after the live transmission the VigilCast program will be permanently archived on Elvis.com to watch via streaming video.

Elvis No. 1 In U.S. Sales Chart Amsterdam-based DJ Junkie XL's update of Elvis Presley's A Little Less Conversation is the nation's top-selling single after one week in stores, according to Presley's label, RCA. The single, list-priced at U$S 4.49, includes a radio edit, an extended version and the original recording. The single crushed its competition, selling more than seven times the number two record. The song is "getting at least a smattering of airplay" on multiple formats, says Airplay Monitor editor Sean Ross. "It looks like it's happening mostly in the South, which is where an Elvis record would have broken 25 years ago. Some programmers are definitely taking a chance with it already, but it's too early to say whether it will get significant play everywhere."
